Where Does Faith Come From

Every person requires faith, and faith comes when we hear the Word of God.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

When it comes to faith, if we are lacking faith we are the only one’s to blame, not God

Rom 10:8-14 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); (9) because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. (11) For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." (12) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. (13) For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (14) How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

Hearing the Word is but the beginning of faith. After hearing the Word, we have to accept the Word that we have heard in order to obtain faith.

We can only hear the Word preached through our fellow man.

Acts 10 & 11

The Great Commission instructs us to preach the Gospel to all mankind.

Acts 10:6, Acts 10:22, Acts 11:12-15

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God

People get what they want, NOT when someone specific prays for them but when their faith rises to take hold of what God has for them.

Your own personal faith brings you ta a place of receiving what you are asking God for

Mat 9:2 And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven."

Mat 9:29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."

Mat 15:28 Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.

Mar 5:34 And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease."

Mar 10:52 And Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

Asking God to provide for us, works as follows: (

We need to Hear the Word of God

Accept what the Word says

Believe for your answer

Act on your faith

Acts 14:8-11

Spend time reading and studying the Bible, but not for head knowledge. Study the Word so that it can establish a foundation in your life.

Pro 4:20-23 My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. (21) Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. (22) For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. (23) Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

The people we read about in the Bible were ordinary people. Because they had faith in God, God was able to touch their lives.
